About Respond and Rebuild

We link resources with needs in disaster relief scenarios by coordinating volunteer efforts and providing safety and skill trainings.

 Respond & Rebuild is a group of disaster response volunteers who came together to help in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. We use our experience as relief workers and skills in the construction trades to coordinate immediate and effective response to disaster and aid in the long term rebuilding process. We've partnered with Occupy Sandy to share skills and resources as  well.

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, we have been pumping out, cleaning out, gutting out, and removing/preventing mold in hurricane-affected communities. We also coordinate training sessions so a larger number of people can provide fast and effective relief, while we build our capacity to assist in long-term recovery efforts.

Respond and Rebuild is an organization founded by former disaster relief volunteers in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. Our mission is to dedicate our experience as relief workers and our skills in the construction trades to a comprehensive immediate response to the disaster as well as the long term rebuilding process of hurricane-affected communities. To achieve this, we coordinate and share information with volunteers in order to multiply our efforts across the affected region.
